The Land  The truth of the American West can be found in its landscapes. The diversity of its natural beauty is also one of its most defining elements. As a painter, my conversation is with its remaining places of unspoiled beauty. Slickrock canyons, riparian habitats, moonlit rockscapes, water winding its way through the desert, its huge skyscapes, the colors and shades of snow covered mountains... they all seduce my artist's heart and compel me to converse with them in my paintings.

I'm an artist and a one-time illustrator. My roots as a working stiff are impossible to bury. I love the basic language of illustration: the color palette, the narratives, the flights of fantasy. When I indulge this part of myself I use different color palettes, mediums, styles, and subject matters. Still life, abstract, botanicals, and digital art are diversions from the styles I am most known for, but they are each an important part of my artistic whole.
